Kotwali and Talaiya police joint team nabs accused with pistol; over 10 cases were registered earlier
The Kotwali Police have arrested Faizan Ali alias ‘Machhli’, who was absconding after an incident of aerial firing on Tuesday. A ‘dessi’ pistol used in the crime has also been recovered. The accused will be presented before the court. The incident came to light after the victim, Danish Baig, lodged a complaint at Kotwali Police Station. According to the report, on Tuesday night around 1:15 am, he was sitting in front of his house with his brother, Sarik Baig and friend, Farhan. Faizan ‘Machhli’ arrived at the location on an Activa scooter with two other individuals.
Faizan immediately began verbally abusing them over a money dispute.
Sarik Baig had reportedly lent Faizan Rs 1,50,000 approximately four to five months ago.
When the three men tried to stop Faizan from hurling abuses, he allegedly pulled a pistol from his waistband and fired a shot into the air. Fearing for their lives, Danish, Sarik, and Farhan fled the scene.
In the ensuing chaos, Danish sustained injuries to his left ear and knee after falling, while Sarik suffered bleeding injuries to both his knees. As Faizan was leaving, he reportedly threatened the victims, saying, “If you ever ask me for money again, I will kill you.”
The entire incident was witnessed by several people.
Joint Police Team Nabs Accused: Taking the gravity of the incident into consideration, a joint team from Kotwali and Talaiya Police Stations was formed under the instructions of senior police officials. The team took swift action and successfully apprehended the absconding accused, Faizan Ali Khan alias ‘Machhli’ (son of Anwar Ali Khan, age 32, resident of Jogipura, Budhwara, Bhopal) on Wednesday.
Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra confirmed the arrest of Faizan Ali Khan (32) and noted that the accused has a history of serious offences.
Extensive Criminal Record: The arrested accused, Faizan Ali Khan alias ‘Machhli,’ has an extensive criminal record. More than 10 cases have been registered against him under various sections at Talaiya, Aishbagh, Nishatpura, and Kohefiza Police Stations. These cases include charges of assault, criminal intimidation, offences under the Arms Act, and other serious crimes.
