MPPKVVCL’s ‘V-Mitra Mobile App’ proves an effective tool for public

The ‘V-Mitra Mobile App’ operated by Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MPPKVVCL) has emerged as a highly effective tool for public. Through this app, citizens have reported electricity theft, illegal connections and misuse, helping the company curb losses while earning rewards themselves. Till now, a total of 1,275 citizens across various districts have received Rs 5.26 lakh directly in their bank accounts as rewards. District-wise reward distribution include Jabalpur – 139 citizens, Rs 17,735, Katni – 24 citizens, Rs 11,300, Mandla – 114 citizens, Rs 74,685, Narsinghpur – 45 citizens, Rs 3,420, Balaghat – 7 citizens, Rs 2,425, Satna – 214 citizens, Rs 1,06,255, Seoni – 121 citizens, Rs 44,330, Chhindwara – 77 citizens, Rs 38,055, Shahdol – 61 citizens, Rs 28,780, Anuppur – 112 citizens, Rs 28,730, Sidhi – 38 citizens, Rs 19,200, Singrauli – 75 citizens, Rs 36,005, Umaria – 52 citizens, Rs 27,450, Dindori – 49 citizens, Rs 15,785, Sagar – 7 citizens, Rs 3,250, Panna – 7 citizens, Rs 3,500, Tikamgarh – 8 citizens, Rs 4,000, Rewa – 75 citizens, Rs 36,900, Damoh – 25 citizens, Rs 12,070 and Chhatarpur – 25 citizens, Rs 13,010. Over 23,144 consumers have downloaded V-Mitra app so far.
 
The app allows users to lodge complaints and track them online. Using this platform, the company has already gained Rs 2.43 crore in benefits. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store. Through the V-Mitra app, citizens can now report electricity theft, meter tampering, illegal connections, incorrect meter readings, unauthorised power extensions, multiple connections at a single location and illegal expansion of connections. All complaints can be monitored live. The app operates on the principle: “Audit by the people, for the people, and of the people.” V-Mitra promotes transparency and citizen participation between the public and the company. The initiative aims to curb electricity theft and protect honest consumers’ interests. The company urges all citizens to report any observed electricity theft, meter bypass, or irregularities via the app. Identity will remain confidential, and verified reports will earn a guaranteed reward.
