The festive spirit of Navratri has taken a creative turn this year as tattoo artists step beyond their traditional canvas of skin to contribute to the decoration of Durga pandals. Tattoo artist Ashish Suryavanshi of Gullawua, who completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts and draws inspiration from his father Rajkumar, a renowned artisan, has designed the beautiful pandal of Swarn Yuva Durga Utsava Samiti, Friends Club in Shakti Nagar, Coal Mines area. Ashish, meticulously painting a striking image of Lord Hanuman, showcasing the same precision and eye for detail that defines his tattoo artistry.

By bringing their intricate skills to larger-than-life artworks, tattoo artists are blending modern creativity with cultural devotion. Organizers say the involvement of such artists not only enhances the visual grandeur of pandals but also gives local talent a wider platform to showcase their versatility. Visitors, too, are admiring the refreshing artistry, as the vibrant designs add depth and richness to the devotional atmosphere of Navratri celebrations. By merging contemporary artistic expression with traditional festivity, tattoo artists like Ashish Suryavanshi are leaving a lasting imprint on year’s Navratri celebrations.
