Srushti Vijay Bahekar, originally from Gondia and formerly a dental practitioner, is all set to shine on the big screen with her first Marathi film, ‘Chhabi’, releasing on September 26.
Directed by Adwait Masurkar and produced by Jaya Chedda, the film features a strong cast including Makrand Deshpande, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Shubhangi Gokhale, Jaywant Wadkar, Sanjay Kulkarni, Rajan Bhise, Dhruv Chedda, Leena Pandit, and Anagha Atul. Music is composed by Rohan-Rohan.
Srushti, who has earlier acted in serials such as Shiva, Tumchi Mulgi Kay Karte, Jai Jai Swami Samarth and Karan Gunhyala Mafi Nahi, plays a parallel lead role in the film. Speaking about her debut, she said, “My first film feels like a dream come true. I owe everything to my parents’ blessings and support.”
The story revolves around a young photographer who visits the Konkan coast for his sister’s wedding and encounters a mysterious woman visible only through his camera lens. The narrative blurs the line between reality and illusion, raising thought-provoking questions.
A special press preview will be held on 26 September at 11.45 am at PVR Cinema, VR Mall, Medical Square.
