Uma, a trainee in the Stenography and Secretarial Assistant Hindi Trade at the Women’s ITI Bhilai, has secured first place in the country in the all-India examination. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India released the list of 35 trainees who secured first place in various trades on September 24.

Uma is the only trainee from Chhattisgarh to make it to this list and has made the state proud by achieving the highest rank in the country in her trade. These 35 students, including Uma, will be honoured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the fourth Skill Convocation to be held at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi on October 2. Uma attributes her overall success to her dedication to skill development and advanced training.

It may be noted that the state of Chhattisgarh is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year. Significant efforts are being made in the field of skill development training for youth. The state government is taking serious steps to improve the quality of training in government industrial training institutes and to provide employment to youth along with training. Uma’s success at the national level, under the able guidance of Vijay Dayaram, Director of Employment and Training, upon taking charge of the department, proves that the results of excellent guidance are beginning to be seen.

RB Tiwari Joint Director of Durg Division and TK Satpute, Principal of the institute, congratulated Uma and attributed this achievement to the guidance received from the Director of the department, Vijay Dayaram.
