Yonex-Sunrise Nagpur District Selection Badminton Tournament which got under way at Achievers Sports Club, Near Podar International School, Besa on Friday. In the Round of 16, Dubey defeated Chaitanya Kharabe 15-0, 15-3 while Mishra recorded an easy 15-5, 15-12 win over Mihir Wasnik. Dambhale, Singh and Londhekar got walkovers over their respective rivals. Sairaj Nayse quelled the challenge from Saheb Kapoor 15-10, 15-5 while Gedam beat Parker 15-10, 15-7. Jeeva Pillai had no difficulty in ousting Devansh Singh Thakur 15-1, 15-0. This competition is one of the Team Selection Tournaments for the Inter-District event for Under-17 which will be held at Ahilyanagar and Under-19 at Palghar in coming days.
