SAINT Francis de Sales (SFS), hosts St John’s High School, Bishop Cotton School (BCS), and St Joseph’s Convent, Fetri, sealed the semi-final berths in the 32nd Father Peter Mermier Football Tournament being organised by St John’s High School at its Mohan Nagar ground. In the first quarter-final, SFS School edged past Delhi Public School, Kamptee by a solitary goal, thanks to an early strike by Samuel Francis in the 16th minute.
 
The second quarters saw hosts St John’s High School dominate Nagpur Residential School with a 3-0 victory. Yash Rajwade opened the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by Khushad Nimje’s goal in the 16th minute. Sahil Samudre sealed the deal with the third goal in 19th minute.
 
The third quarters was a thriller between Bishop Cotton School and Centre Point School, Katol Road. Ayaan Rai struck first for CPS in the 8th minute but Navir Khana equalised for Bishop Cotton taking the match into tie-breaker. Bishop Cotton held their nerves to clinch a 4-3 win in sudden death. Bishop Cotton’s penalty scorers were Navir Khana, Adnaan Khan, Niel Gotwat, and Mohammad Amish Jamala, while for CPS, Riyansh Gandhi, Arjun Isaacs and Ayaan Rai found the back of the net.
