Speaking on the occasion, Governor Ramen Deka said that the High Court of Chhattisgarh stands as the interpreter of the Constitution, protector of civil rights and a vigilant guardian of justice. “It is a matter of great honour and pride for me to address you (judges) all on this glorious occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Chhattisgarh was established on November
 
1, 2000, it marked a new beginning in the field of governance as well as justice,” said Deka. The High Court of Chhattisgarh Bilaspur, was established with the birth of this state. Since then, this court has stood as the interpreter of the Constitution, protector of civil rights, and guardian of justice, he added. Governor Deka commended the judiciary for the speedy redressal of pending cases under the Lok Adalat. He called for strengthening the judiciary’s ethics and reducing the backlog of cases to ensure speedy justice for the public.
 
Chief Minister Sai said that with the availability of infrastructure and resources, we are committed to providing timely justice under any circumstances. In this sequence, Chhattisgarh government has increased the budget of the Law and Legislative Department by 25 percent last year and 29 percent this year as compared to the year 2023-24, he added. Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs and Judge of the Supreme Court Justice J K Maheshwari also addressed the programme. Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Ramesh Sinha gave the welcome address. Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Sanjay Agrawal proposed the vote of thanks.
 
The guests also released souvenir. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao, Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O P Choudhary, Law Minister Gajendra Yadav, former Governor Ramesh Bai, Chief Justice of Madras High COURT Shrivastava, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court P Sam Koshy, former Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Yatindra Singh, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Arundeo Gautam, Advocate General Prafull Bharat, MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Amar Agrawal, Chhattisgarh High Court Bar Association President Mr Chandel, judges of the High Court, judicial officials, advocates, public representatives and others attended the function.
