On Saturday, Nagpur witnessed three historic pathsanchalans at a time and in one single day. The pathsanchalan is an important part of the Vijayadashmi Utsav of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). It is celebrated on Dussehra. Since RSS is completing 100 years of its existence on Vijaya Dashami, the event is going to be grand. Considering the vastness of the event, the pathsanchalan was planned five days prior.
This year it had planned three pathsanchalans on Saturday, September 27, the day when RSS came into being. All three pathsanchalans started from three different places at 7 pm and crossed at 7.45 pm (evening) at Variety Square at a time. At Variety Square, Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat along with Mahanagar Sanghchalak Rajesh Loya and Vidarbha Prant Sah Sanghchalak Shridhar Gadge observed the pathsanchalan from the stage erected near Gandhi statue. On the opposite side near Eternity Mall, a stage was arranged where stood Rashtra Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Shantakka, Pramukh Karyawahika Sita Annadanam,
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Sunil Deshpande, Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule,
Minister Ashok Uike, City BJP President Dayashankar Tiwari, Mudhoji Raje Bhonsale, Ghanshyamdas Kukreja and others.
The routes of the pathsanchalan were Sanchalan 1 - It started from Kasturchand Park, passed by Samvidhan chowk, Zero Mile, Variety Square, Mahajan Market, Hotel Ganraj, Tekdi Hanuman Mandir Marg, Zero Mile, Samvidhan Chowk, Kasturchand Park.
Second pathsanchalan began from Yashwant Stadium, passed by Munje Chowk, Variety square, Jhansi Rani Chowk, Panchsheel Chowk, Lokmat chowk, Humpyard T Point, Dhantoli Police Station, Mehadia chowk and reached back to Yashwant Stadium.
Third pathsanchalan started from Hockey ground (Amravati road), passed by Variety Square, Freedom Park chowk, RTMNU and reached Hockey ground.
There was enthusiasm among public about the pathsanchalans and people in large number were waiting from 6 pm. Variety chowk witnessed the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and atmosphere became patriotic. Barricades were kept at different place so that people would stand and have a glimpse of this historic event. At Variety Square, public showered petals during the passage of pathsanchalans. Police took a lot of efforts to put traffic in order.
