Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, on Saturday conducted a site inspection of ensuing Punjabi Dussehra venue near Gaurighat and said the event to be held on October 1 will be more grand and lively than ever before.
Accompanied by dignitaries of the Punjabi Hindu Association, the Mayor visited Ayurvedic College premises, where Punjabi Dussehra will be organised and directed officials of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation to ensure foolproof arrangements. He instructed departments including traffic, health, fire, water supply, public works and anti-encroachment to complete their assigned tasks with utmost seriousness before the festival. Cleanliness, security and smooth crowd management have been given top priority.
The Mayor said that this year’s
Punjabi Dussehra will be “historically more magnificent and divine.” The highlight of the evening will be the symbolic slaying of Ravana by Lord Shri Ram at 4 pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the skies. Alongside, the ground will come alive with colourful cultural performances, offering entertainment and joy to the large crowds expected. Appealing to citizens, the Mayor urged the people of Sanskardhani to participate in large numbers and make the event a grand success.
