An important meeting of Mayor-in-Council was held at Jabalpur Municipal Corporation headquarters. Mayor Jagat Bahdur Singh chaired the meeting, during which a number of significant proposals were unanimously approved. A key decision was taken regarding completion of pending works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Parswada and Bhatauli sites. It was decided that existing buildings would be utilised “as it is” for expenditure or sale and remaining vacant land under the project would be allocated for commercial and residential plotting.
This step aims to ensure proper financial management for the completion of stalled projects.
The M-i-C also approved several other proposals related to compensation, land allocation, naming and installation of statues. The issues include compensation to residents for properties demolished by the municipal corporation near Damohanaka Pali Building. Temporary lease of land for one shop in Gram Kathonda.
Naming Pushpak Nagar Garden in Maharshi Mahesh Yogi Ward as “Namo Udyan.” Installation of a grand and divine statue of Maharshi Jabali Rishi at the Gupteshwar Temple complex. Likewise, renaming important city squares and roads including Wright Town Prem Mandir Chowk and adjacent road as “Raja Bahadur Singh Chowk”, the square near H P College, Vijay Nagar as “Siddhi Vinayak Chowk”, the road from Ekta Chowk, Vijay Nagar to Paroha Building culvert as “Maharaja Agrasen Marg”, the junction between
Anjuman School and Government Hospital as “Bengali Club Chowk” and the road from Bengali Club Chowk to Karamchand Chowk as “Bengali Club Marg.” All these proposals received approval from the Mayor-in-Council and have
been forwarded to the JMC House for further action. During the meeting, Mayor Singh directed all officials, particularly technical staff to personally keep an eye on and initiate all pending departmental works and maintain continuous monitoring. He warned that any irregularities or complaints found in their absence would result in strict action against the responsible officials.
