PRSSE holds session to mark launching of Citizen Science Series

 

 

Professor Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory (PRSSE) has kicked off its innovative Citizen Science Series with an engaging first session titled “Science in My Kitchen” held recently. Designed especially for parents, the programme highlighted the fascinating science behind everyday kitchen activities, with a special focus on the properties of grains commonly found in Indian households.

 

The session was led by Dr Pratima Shastri, Former Head of Food Technology at LIT Nagpur, and Shikha Vyas, Academic Head at PRSSE, with valuable support from Biology trainee Ekta Bagde. PRSSE Director Dr Seema Ubale inaugurated the event, introduced Dr Shastri, and outlined the vision behind the Citizen Science Series. Through demonstrations and hands-on lab activities, participants discovered how science is seamlessly woven into daily life, making routine kitchen experiences insightful and exciting. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, PRSSE has invited parents and other interested participants to join the upcoming session.
