The Marathi film Chhabi, which has been winning audiences and gaining popularity in theatres, is now set to cast its charm on Nagpur. To promote the film, actress Dr Srishti Bahekar and actor Dhruv Chedda will soon tour the city, visiting theatres and the ongoing Garba Mahotsav. Vidarbha’s own Srishti Vijay Bahekar, a dentist turned actress, will interact with the Nagpur audience alongside her co-star Dhruv. Both play lead roles in what marks their debut in Marathi cinema. Dhruv, previously seen as a child actor in several advertisements, including one with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is also a trained dancer under Shiamak Davar. Expressing his delight, he said, “Debuting in Marathi cinema is a proud moment as my family and I are ardent fans of Marathi content.”

 

Directed by Advait Masurkar and produced by Jaya Chedda, Chhabi features music by the popular duo Rohan-Rohan and includes stalwarts such as Makrand Deshpande, Samir Dharmadhikari and Shubhangi Gokhale. The story follows a young photographer who encounters a mysterious woman visible only through his camera, blurring the line between reality and illusion. Released on September 26, Chhabi has already received an enthusiastic response. Nagpur audiences can now look forward to meeting the stars in person. The lead duo of the movie were also present for a press conference at Patrakar Club of Nagpur, on Monday evening.
