Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, speaking at a State-level event in Khirkiya, Harda district, on Monday, announced that from the next academic session, students benefiting from the Right to Education (RTE) Act in private schools will receive free textbooks and school bags. This initiative forms part of the State Government’s broader commitment to securing the future of its children through improved access to education and support for their academic needs. Dr Yadav highlighted that the Government currently reimburses school fees for over 8.45 lakh RTE students studying in more than 20,000 private schools across the State. On the occasion, the Chief Minister transferred Rs 489 crore to these schools through a single-click process to ensure seamless support. He also distributed symbolic cheques to two schools: Shanti Niketan Higher Secondary School in Chhipabad received Rs 4.01 lakh for 62 RTE students, while Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Khirkiya, was allotted Rs 3.61 lakh for 59 students. Emphasising education as a pillar for nation-building, Dr Yadav said that the Government’s policy of providing free bicycles, uniforms and books to Government school students has significantly improved the quality of education in the State. Furthermore, incentives like scooters for school toppers and laptops for students securing more than 75 per cent marks reflect the administration’s commitment to nurturing talent. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as one of India’s fastest-developing states, with the Government focused on expanding educational infrastructure, including the establishment of Sandeepani schools that combine quality education with cultural values. He expressed his vision for students to grow into skilled professionals such as doctors, engineers, and teachers, while also encouraging them to take active roles in social and political spheres as responsible citizens. In addition to education-related announcements, Dr Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several key development projects in Harda district, totalling approximately Rs 18.51 crore. These projects include the construction of a new high school building in Kayda featuring classrooms and laboratories, a boys’ college hostel in Timarni, and two new 33/11 kV power substations at Khamapadwa and Bhawras. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for new Janpad Panchayat buildings in Timarni and Khirkiya and inaugurated a Primary Health Centre at Dhanwada, complete with staff quarters, aimed at improving healthcare services in the region. Addressing the concerns of farmers, Dr Yadav assured that the State Government is committed to ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce. Under the Bhavantar scheme, soybean farmers will now receive Rs 5,328 per quintal, while wheat farmers have been provided a bonus of Rs 175 per quintal, increasing the price to Rs 2,600. He also recalled the tragic explosion incident in Harda earlier this year, praising the prompt response by government authorities in providing relief to the affected families. To enhance emergency services, the state has now introduced the PM Shri Air Ambulance service to ensure swift transportation of critically ill or injured patients to hospitals. The event concluded with Dr. Yadav participating in the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign, planting a sapling alongside dignitaries as a symbol of the government’s commitment to environmental conservation and social responsibility. The gathering saw the presence of Union Minister Durga Das Uikey, State School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, former minister Kamal Patel, district officials, teachers, students, and a large number of local citizens.
