Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jabalpur Range, Atul Singh, Collector Raghvendra Singh and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay conducted an inspection tour of the city to review the security arrangements in place for the ongoing Durga Utsav celebrations. During their visit, the officials interacted with police officers and personnel deployed across the city, encouraged them for their dedicated service, and issued necessary instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the festival. Known as the “Sanskaradhani,” Jabalpur is renowned for celebrating Durga Utsav with grandeur and on a large scale, attracting devotees from across the state.

On the auspicious days of Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, large crowds gather in the evenings to visit public Durga pandals. To manage this, robust security arrangements have been enforced under the guidance of SP Sampat Upadhyay, with deployment from 6 pm to 5 am. Special arrangements have also been made at major temples including Badi Khermai, Budhi Khermai, Tripur Sundari Temple (Bhedaghat), and Sharda Temple (Barela), where devotees, especially women, arrive as early as 3 AM for rituals and darshan. On the night of September 28, DIG Atul Singh, Collector Raghvendra Singh, and SP Sampat Upadhyay visited police stations including Omti, Lordganj, Kotwali, Hanumantal, Gohalpur, Sunarhai, Nunarhai, Gadhafatak, and Badi Khermai, reviewing the security set-up. They praised the officers and personnel for their effective duty management and provided further on-ground directions for crowd safety and order. Additional SP (City) Ayush Gupta, CSP Kotwali Ritesh Kumar Shiv, CSP Gohalpur Madhur Pateria and concerned station in-charges were also present during the inspection.
