Global Indian International School (GIIS), Lava, Nagpur, successfully hosted the Taluka-level School Kabaddi Tournament 2025, bringing together over 300 students from more than 25 schools for two days of spirited competition. Organised under the aegis of Directorate of Sports & Youth Services, Maharashtra, in collaboration with District Sports Council and the District Sports Officer’s Office, Nagpur, the tournament highlighted the growing enthusiasm for indigenous sports among today’s youth.
The event was supervised locally by Umesh Chaure, Taluka District Sports Officer.
Speaking at the event, Nidhi Gupta, Principal, GIIS Nagpur, said, “It is an honour for our school to host a tournament that celebrates Kabaddi, a sport deeply rooted in our culture.”
Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Dumble, was chief guest on the occasion.
“This tournament is a great example of how collaboration between schools and sports authorities can create meaningful opportunities for young athletes,” said Umesh Chaure.
