DISHA Kasat played a match winning knock as Vidarbha emerged champions in the 3rd edition of Chhattisgarh Cup Senior Women’s T20 Invitational Tournament at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur on Monday. Kasat’s brisk 38-ball 73, which included five hits to the fence and six sixes, helped Vidarbha defeat Tamil Nadu by 7 wickets. After winning the toss, Vidarbha opted to field first and restricted Tamil Nadu to 106 runs for 6 wickets. Roshni Rajshekharan made 43 runs, Kamalini G hit 25 and Anusha remained unbeaten on 24. Vidarbha’s bowling attack was led by Aarya Gohane, Aarti Bahenwal and Trupti Lodhe, each claiming two wickets. Aarya was the most economical bowler giving away just 12 runs in her four overs.
 
In reply, Vidarbha chased down the target comfortably reaching 108 for 3 in 14.2 overs. Kasat was supported by Riddhi Nayak who made 22 runs. Tamil Nadu’s Akshra Shrinivasan and Keerthna picked one wicket each. Kasat was declared Player of the Match. She also received Player of the Tournament award. Mona Meshram from Vidarbha was awarded Best Batter while the sole consolation for Tamil Nadu was Best Bowler Award to Akshara Shrinivasan.
