Wave of joy at Regional Centre as IGNOU ranked first in Open University category

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been ranked first in the Open University category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, reaffirming its role as a leader in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Education in India. The NIRF rankings are widely regarded as a benchmark for excellence in higher education. The certificate was presented to Professor Uma Kanjilal, Vice-chancellor, IGNOU by Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan in the presence of heads of all educational institutions in the country at a ceremony held in Delhi on Thursday.
 
By securing the top position in the Open Universities category for the second time in a row, IGNOU has once again underlined the important role of Open and Distance Learning and IGNOU in building an inclusive and knowledge-based society. Reacting to this remarkable achievement, IGNOU Vice Chancellor Professor Kanjilal expressed her gratitude to all the members of the IGNOU community and said that this achievement has been made possible by the dedicated efforts of our faculty, academic and non-academic staff. This spread a wave of joy and enthusiasm at IGNOU Regional Centre Jabalpur. Regional Director Dr Somasi Srinivas also congratulated everyone.
 
Deputy Director Dr Vivek Srivastava informed in this regard that IGNOU Regional Centre Jabalpur is also continuously working with these objectives for educational needs of people of 24 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Out of more than 330 courses of IGNOU, the admission process for all other courses except semester based and certificate courses is online and the last date for admission in July session is September15, 2025. At IGNOU, the mission is clear to provide affordable and quality education to everyone, everywhere. Going forward, we will focus on leveraging digital and technological tools to ensure smooth access even in the most remote parts of the country.
