By Dr Savita Somalwar :
Late Dr Ashutosh Somalwar, a renowned practising physician and a teacher par excellence, left for heavenly abode on September 6 2024. His sudden demise created a profound void in the medical fraternity.
Being a caring son, a loving husband, a beloved father, a respected teacher and a humble physician, his sudden and unexpected demise came as a shock not only to his close relatives and friends but also to a myriad of patients as well. He served for around 25 years in Government in Medical College at Nagpur, Latur and in Gondia.
He taught many MBBS batches and also
guided postgraduate students pursuing careers in
medicine.
He treated and saved many COVID patients, risking his own life during the COVID
pandemic. He was also one of the members of Somalwar School management committee.
All his family members and friends still bear the weight of this profound
loss. His legacy will be carried by his sons, Dr Kaustubh Somalwar, a Neuro Physician, Dr Chaitanya Somalwar, he is pursuing MD in Internal Medicine, and Daughter-in-Law Dr Nabha Kaustubh Somalwar, Radiologist.
