Varsha shows power, lifts twin titles

 

Varsha Shelke claimed twin title in the recently held The Strength Game – a Bench Press and Deadlift Championship. The competition was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vasantrao Naik Government Institute of Arts and Social Science (VNGIASS), in association with Fact Fitness. The event was conducted by Shashwat Sakhare, Founder, Fact Fitness and Aman Vishwakarma. Varsha won the gold medals in women’s 57 kg bench press as well as in deadlift competitions. Similarly, Manisha Dadgal won silver in bench press and bronze in deadlift events.

 

A specially-abled bench press and deadlift competition was organised, setting a new benchmark for inclusivity in sports. Under the careful supervision of doctors and a dedicated medical team, 12 specially-abled sportspersons showcased their strength, determination, and spirit.

 

The event drew an energetic crowd of athletes, coaches, fitness enthusiasts, and well-wishers. Shubham Mothe was the chief guest while Krushnadatta Choubey graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Sakhare also shared the dais. Dr Manohar Khumbhare (Director of VNGIASS) and Dr Surajsingh Yeotikar (Director of Physical Education) supported the event. Suyesh Pandagale, Gaurav Sontakke, Saurab Pise, Ansar Ansari, Sheikh Rizwan, Jayant Warambhe, Yuganti Pullakwar, and Adv Dhanesh Vyas worked hard for the success of the event. Results: Men’s 66 Kg Bench Press: Mohit Yadav, Aditya Adey, Aabhas Meshram. 75 kg: Vipul Raj, Prajwal Arun Meshram, Aadil Ahmed. 84 kg: Lazarus Emanyuel, Chetan Sawarkar, Shubham Meshram. 93 kg: Yasir Patel, Chandan Pende, Aryan Bante. 93+ kg: Dishan Ramteke. Devdarsh Rao. Men’s 66 kg Deadlift: Aditya Adey, Aabhas Meshram, Harsh Katole. 75 kg: Umair Sheikh, Dinesh Jasari, Aadil Ahmed. 84 kg: Mohammad Mubashshir Ansari, Shubham Meshram, Rushab Dhoble. 93 kg: Yasir Patel, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Aryan Bante. 93+ kg: Mohommad Azhar Ali, Dishan Ramteke, Devdarsh Rao.
