The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to announce the NEET-PG (Postgraduate) Counselling schedule shortly, as candidates await dates for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in state-run government medical colleges and private medical colleges and 100 percent seats in deemed medical university like All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur.
The counselling was anticipated to begin on or after September 10, but a Supreme Court petition seeking greater transparency in the admission process of postgraduate degree as well as diploma courses all clinical and non-clinical branches in the medical education has delayed the official announcement.
The plan has now been adjourned to next week, further extending the wait for a
confirmed timeline. It may be mentioned here that, in state-run government medical colleges, 50 percent of seats are set aside for All India Quota and the remaining 50 percent seats are for the state quota, reserved for NEET-PG qualifiers who have completed their MBBS in that state. In private medical college, 50 percent are reserved for All India Quota and remaining 50 percent seats are reserved for state quota, management quota and NRI quota.
