25-yr-old Ajay Yadav was hit by a speeding tanker in Koradi
A festive Ganesh immersion procession turned tragic when a young man lost his life in a road accident. The joy and devotion of the night turned into grief as 25-year-old Ajay Yadav, who was accompanying his mandal on a motorcycle, was hit by a speeding tanker in the Koradi area.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Ajay Laxman Yadav (25), resident of Dharampeth, Gawlipura, near Shiv Mandir. Around 12.30 am on Monday, Ajay was riding his Pulsar motorcycle (MH-31/FJ-3582) along with workers of Om Bal Ganesh Utsav Mandal, who were taking their Ganpati idol to Koradi Lake for immersion in a tractor.
When the procession reached within the limits of Koradi Police Station, a tanker (RJ-47/DA-4326) tried to overtake. The tanker driver, identified as Rajesh Gopal Chaudhary, resident of Rajasthan, allegedly drove rashly. The tanker hit Ajay’s bike which caused him to fall under the rear wheel of the heavy vehicle. Ajay suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Koradi Police registered a case.
