The Education Department of SAIL–Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has invited applications for the Talent Qualifying Test (TQT)–2026, a common examination designed for admission to Class IX and for recognising meritorious children of BSP employees. The test will be conducted for admission to Class IX at BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-10 for the academic session 2026–27, and for identifying deserving students studying in Class VIII during the 2025–26 session in Bhilai and Mines areas, whether in BSP or non-BSP schools. It has been clarified that TQT-2026 will serve as a single common examination for both purposes.

The proposed date for the test is 31 January 2026. The registration fee has been fixed at Rs 150 for children of BSP employees and Rs 350 for non-BSP students. However, children of BSP employees appearing only for the merit award assessment will be allowed to take the test free of cost. Under the merit award scheme, cash prizes will be given to meritorious children of BSP employees, with awards ranging from Rs. 8,000 for the first rank to Rs. 3,000 for those securing ranks from sixth to tenth.

A separate merit category has also been introduced for students studying in BSP schools in Mines areas, with cash awards for the top two rank holders. Interested students from BSP schools may obtain the registration forms from their respective schools, while candidates from non-BSP schools can collect forms from BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-10. Forms and detailed guidelines are also available on the BSP Intranet. Duly filled applications, along with a verified copy of the marksheet, must be submitted at BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-10, by 17 January 2026.
