Secondary School, Raipur, had
the honour of hosting an awareness programme on drugs and
their impact. Main theme of the
event was ‘Awareness on Drug
Addiction’ and aimed to educate
school students and staff about
the serious need for awareness
on this critical issue.
Senior Civil Judge Class I and
Secretary of District Legal
Services Authority, Raipur,
Avinash Kumar Dubey graced
the programme as chief guest.
While welcoming the chief guest
and other dignitaries, Principal
of the school Vishwadeep Shukla
urged the students to carefully
listen to and follow the advice
given by the eminent speakers,
who are associated with addressing the problem of drug abuse
in various capacities.
The programme was also
graced by prominent guests from
ITM University including Pro Vice
Chancellor Dr Lakshmi Murthy,
Head of the Department of Law
Professor Dr Jelis Subhan,,
Convener Dr Shivli Shrivastava,,
Dr Gunjan Mishra from the
School of Psychology and Dr
Deepshree Chauhan.
In his impactful keynote
address, Avinash Dubey emphasised the crucial need for young
minds to understand that what
may begin as casual experimentation can quickly turn into a
life-altering struggle. He also
explained the legal consequences
of drug abuse, highlighting the
strict laws related to drug possession and distribution, along
with the severe penalties
involved.
The programme also included a skit performed by 12 students of ITM University on the
theme of drug addiction.
It was followed by screening
of a short film on drug addiction.
Chartered Accountant and
Treasurer of the School Executive
Committee Sanjay Jain also
shared his personal experiences
related to the issue.
