To disseminate global technological standards to ensure most accurate and sophisticated treatments available in the medical landscape to the patients, second day of 16th MP PATHCON 2026 concluded on Saturday. The second day marked a significant advancement in the discourse surrounding pathology and diagnostic medicine. The event convened a diverse assembly of medical experts, researchers and students to examine the integration of modern technology and innovative pedagogical approaches in the healthcare sector.
 
The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr Ashok Khandelwal, Vice-Chancellor, Madhya Pradesh Medical University, who characterized the event as a “milestone” for the medical fraternity in the State. Dr Sanjay Totade, Organising Chairman highlighted the entry of large corporate entities into the pathology sector and urging the current generation of professionals to mentor future students.
 
Furthermore, Dr Rajesh Tiwari, Acting Dean, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, proposed a decentralized infrastructure model, suggesting the establishment of pathology laboratories on every floor of medical institutions to enhance diagnostic efficiency. The technical sessions featured rigorous academic exchanges on various clinical challenges. Dr Parul Jain detailed the transition from traditional microscopy to molecular medicine in the diagnosis of Tuberculosis. Dr Amit Verma and Dr Atin Singhai provided updates on ovarian biopsy protocols and the latest WHO classifications for bladder carcinoma, respectively.
 
Dr Reena Das and Dr Aparna Jairam in their lectures, covered hereditary anemia and recent updates in autoimmunity. Dr Arjun Singh, through his presentation, advocated for the implementation of “Gamification” in medical education. This approach involves applying game-design elements to academic curricula to enhance engagement and retention among medical students, ensuring they are equipped with the cognitive tools required for modern clinical practice.
