Seven shooters from Gun For Glory Shooting Academy, Jabalpur, brought laurels to the city by winning 12 national medals at the recently concluded 68th National Shooting Championship, delivering outstanding performances across multiple categories including men, women, junior, youth and special divisions. In the Men’s 10m Air Rifle Team event, Darius Saurastri secured a bronze medal. In the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Team event, Shreya and Mahima Sisodia showcased excellent marksmanship to claim bronze.
Similarly, Navya Gupta and Gautami Bhanot won bronze in the Youth Women’s Air Rifle Team category. Pranju Somani delivered an exceptional performance by winning silver in 10m Air Rifle Sub-Youth Women, gold in 10m Air Rifle Junior Women (Civilian), gold in 10m Air Rifle Senior Women (Civilian) and bronze in 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event.
Mohammad Wania also excelled, winning gold in 10m Air Rifle Men (Deaf category), gold in 10m Air Rifle Junior Men and bronze in 10m Air Rifle Junior Men (Civilian). The performances of Pranju Somani and Mohammad Wadia were especially commendable.
This year, 96 shooters from the academy participated in the championship, out of which seven shooters clinched 12 national medals.
The medal winners include trainees from across India Pranju Somani (Raipur, Chhattisgarh), Mohammad Wania (Surat, Gujarat), Darius Saurastri (Bengaluru) and Mahima Sisodia (Indore, Madhya Pradesh) who have been training at the academy for the past one to three years under the guidance of Senior Coach Nishant Nathwani and Coach Shakti Chakravarti.
