Staff Reporter :
On the initiative of Superintendent of Police, police have installed CCTV cameras at total 156 sensitive spots in the city with public cooperation for better monitoring of law and order arrangements. Compliance with the directions of SP Sampat Upadhyay, police started a special campaign to identify sensitive crime spots in the city and total 190 locations were identified. Out of the identified locations,
756 CCTV cameras were proposed to be installed.
SP instructed all gazetted officers and city/rural police station heads to conduct meetings with eminent citizens, traders and local residents to discuss security concerns and identify suitable locations for CCTV installation. He emphasised that CCTV cameras should be installed through public cooperation, while promptly addressing suggestions and resolving issues raised during these meetings.
In compliance with these directives, police station in-charges across city and rural areas organised meetings with local stakeholders and identified sensitive locations from a security perspective.
Police authorities informed
that installation of CCTV cameras at the remaining identified locations will be completed at the earliest. The initiative aims to deter crime, improve real-time monitoring, and enhance the overall sense of security among citizens through community participation.
