IN a proud moment for Chhattisgarh, 24-year-old Khushi Agrawal of Ratanpur in Bilaspur district has brought laurels to the State by clearing the prestigious All India Bar Examination (AIBE) in her very first attempt. With this achievement, she has earned the eligibility to practise law in High Courts and subordinate courts across the country.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) recently declared the results of AIBE-20, an examination eagerly awaited by aspiring advocates nationwide.
This year, 2,51,968 candidates appeared for the exam, out of which 1,74,386 qualified, registering a success rate of 69.21 per cent. The announcement of the results sparked celebrations in Ratanpur, where locals marked Khushi’s success by distributing sweets and extending heartfelt congratulations.
Daughter of Deepak Agrawal, Khushi said she chose the field of law with a firm resolve to deliver justice to victims, the oppressed, and weaker sections of society. She shared that her desire to stand against injustice and help people secure their rightful entitlements through legal means inspired her to pursue this profession.
Khushi also credited her parents and teachers for their constant guidance and encouragement throughout her journey, saying their support played a vital role in her success.
Emphasising that this milestone is only the beginning, Khushi stated that she remains committed to working harder and upholding the principles of fairness and impartial justice in her legal career so that the needy and suffering receive rightful justice. Earlier, after the release of the provisional answer key, candidates were invited to submit objections.
Upon review, the final answer key was issued with five questions removed, leading to a revision in the cut-off marks. As per the revised criteria, the qualifying marks were fixed at 43 out of 95 for General and OBC categories and 38 out of 95 for SC/ST categories. All successful candidates will be awarded the ‘Certificate of Practice’ (CoP) by the BCI, enabling them to practise law officially across the country. Khushi Agrawal’s achievement is not merely a personal triumph but a source of inspiration for the youth of Ratanpur and the district at large, proving that determination and dedication can help students from small towns achieve big dreams.
