LEOPARD that killedboy in Katni CAPTURED

 

 

 

THE leopard which had killed a 10-year-old boy in Ghunaur village of Vijayraghavgarh tehsil, was safely captured by the Forest Department on Thursday. According to the DFO, the captured leopard will be sent to Mukundpur Safari after a health check-up. It may be mentioned that the leopard had carried away the 10-year-old boy from outside his house in Ghunaur village in broad daylight.

 

After the incident, the boy's body was recovered from the interior of the forest during a search operation conducted by the Forest Department, but the fear of the leopard had spread terror in about half a dozen villages near Ghunaur. Since the incident, Forest Department team had been continuously trying to catch the leopard.

 

Just a day earlier, the Forest Department had set a trap by tying a goat in a cage to catch the leopard, but the leopard hunted the goat and escaped. On Thursday, the Forest Department again tied a goat in the cage, and this time the leopard was caught in the trap. The residents of about half a dozen villages have now breathed a sigh of relief after the capture of leopard by Forest Department.
