Sandip Joshi
has
announced
that he is
stepping away from active politics on Monday. He has made
it clear that once his current
term as an MLC ends on May
13, he will not accept any political position, even if the party
offers one.
Speaking to the media, Joshi
said, the decision came after
careful thought and discussions with Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis. However,
many in political circles feel
that the recent municipal elections and the changing political climate may also have
played a role. A few months
ago, Joshi had opened a public relations office on RPTS
Road, which had sparked speculation about his future plans.
His sudden announcement has
now taken many party workers and supporters by surprise.
In an emotional and detailed
letter, Joshi explained the thinking behind his move. He wrote

FIVE years after the shocking firing on Sandip Joshi’s
car, the case remains
unsolved. On December
17, 2019, Joshi had a narrow escape when two bikeborne men fired three bullets at his car on Wardha
Road late at night. Joshi
was returning home with
his family after celebrating
service and commitment for
him, not about power or positions. He also expressed concernoverwhathedescribed as
agrowingcultureofdefections,
opportunism and unhealthy
competition for posts.

has also led to injustice to loyal party workers.
Stepping aside at 55
JOSHI said, he is now 55 and
believes it is time to step back
and give younger leaders the
opportunity to move ahead.
With limited posts and rising
expectations, he felt that, no
one is willing to pause, so he
decided to take that difficult
stephim self.Calling him selfan
“ordinary BJP worker”, he
stressed that the decision was
not emotional, but the result
of deep reflection.
He clarified that,he will continue to discharge his duties
as an MLC with full commitment until May 13.
After that,he will retire completely from active politics.
Before making his decision
public, he said, he sought the
blessings and forgiveness of
senior leaders,including Union
Minister Nitin Gadkari and
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Social work to continue
WHILE he is leaving politics,
Joshi said, his social work will
continue. He will remain
involvedin several welfare initiatives, including the ‘Sobat
Palakattva Project’ for single
mothers affected during the
COVID-19 pandemic, the
‘Deendayal Thali Project’ for
families of patients coming to
Nagpur for treatment, cow
service initiatives, and the
Gangadharrao Fadnavis
Memorial Diagnostic Centre
run by the Shri Siddhivinayak
Seva Foundation.
He also said he will continue working in the sports arena through various State and
city-level associations, focusing on supporting and encouraging young athletes.
Looking back on his journey, Joshi said that, after his
family, the Rashtriya
Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)
shaped his values, and the BJP
gave him the platform to serve
as a four-time corporator,
Standing Committee
Chairman, Mayor and MLC.
He expressed his gratitude to
the party and said, he did not
want his continued presence
to cause anyinjustice to grassroots workers.
