IN LINE with the planning
criteria of the Central
Electricity Authority, the
Madhya Pradesh Power
Transmission Company (MP
Transco), keeping in view the
growing electricity demand
in the State and the reliability requirements of the transmission network, has
installed and energised an
additional 500 MVA capacity 400/220 kV power transformer at the 400 kV
Badnawar substation in
Dhar district.
With this addition, adequate power from
Sardar Sarovar, Gujarat, to
Madhya Pradesh will now be
available through PGCIL’s
Rajgarh network.
Energy Minister of Madhya
Pradesh, Pradyuman Singh
Tomar informed that the
installation of the new transformer has not only
enhanced the reliability of
the state transmission network but has also ensured
compliance with the N-1
contingency standards. This
will help in handling future
load growth and in increasing the Available Transfer

transmission system.
