WITH the first T20 International
match between India and New
Zealand set to take place on
January 21 at the VCA Stadium
in Jamtha, the Nagpur Traffic
Police have rolled out a special
traffic management plan to prevent congestion.
DCP Traffic Lohit Matani said
that, all vehicles will be barred
from entering the JamthaT-Point
on match day. Only vehicles carrying players and umpires will
be allowed to use this route. VCA
members’ vehicles will also follow the same entry system.
School buses will be required
to take a U-turn near the National
Cancer Institute (NCI) and park
at the designated parking area
near Gate No 13.
To reduce traffic pressure,
spectators have been strongly
advised to use the Metro service. “With such a large crowd
expected, traffic movement may
slow down despite all arrangements. Using the Metro will help
avoid delays,” DCP Matani said.
Feeder buses will operate fromMetro stations to the stadium.
NCI route for
vehicles from city
VEHICLES travelling fromNagpur towards Jamtha shouldtake a left turn fromWardha Roadnear the National CancerInstitute. From there, they must
turn left near Mauli Nagar and proceed to the designated parking areas.
To minimise inconvenience to local residents,
separate entry and exitroutes have been planned.
Different parking zones have been earmarked for
two-wheelers, four-wheelers, school buses, VIPs,
police personnel, and media vehicles.
Traffic coming from Wardha Rd, Butibori
VEHICLESarriving fromWardhaRoadandButibori
towards Jamtha will be directed to Parking Zone
‘F’near theBrahmakumariarea.Two-wheelersand
four-wheelers will be parked on separate sides.
Vehicles crossing the Jamtha T-Point near
Ultratechwillbeparkedindesignated four-wheeler zones, from where feeder buses will transport
spectators to the stadium.
Motorists must strictly follow the marked entry
and exit routes.
The Traffic Police have also advised citizens to
refer to theofficialguidelinemapissued fordetailed
route information.
Avoid the route if not attending match
DRIVERS who are not heading for the cricket match are requested to avoid the Jamtha route on January 21, especially between 5 pm and 7 pm before the match, and 10 pm to 11.30 pm after the match, to prevent unnecessary congestion.
