A SENSATIONALcase of attempt to murder has emerged from the Nehru Nagar area, under the jurisdiction of Kamala Nagar police station, where a college student was brutally attacked following a trivial dispute. The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, is currently battling for his life at a private hospital. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Mukul Sharma (22), a resident of Nehru Nagar and a college student. The incident occurred late Monday night around 10 when Mukul was heading to a local shop to purchase some household items. Near Talreja Medical Store, Mukul accidentally brushed against a youth identified as Yash Saini.

 

This minor physical contact allegedly enraged Saini, who began hurling abuses and acting aggressively. When Mukul protested the unprovoked verbal assault, the situation escalated violently. The accused reportedly pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Mukul repeatedly, targeting his head and legs. The attacker fled the scene immediately after the assault, leaving the victim in a pool of blood. Passers-by and family members rushed Mukul to a nearby private medical facility, where doctors have described his condition as critical. Based on a formal complaint filed by the victim’s maternal uncle, Deepak, the Kamala Nagar police have registered a case against the accused, Yash Saini, a resident of Shabari Nagar.
