NITTTR Bhopal and Cotton University partner to launchspecialised semiconductor courses for north-east India
Staff Reporter :
THE National Institute of
Technical Teachers Training and
Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, and
Cotton University, Guwahati,
have joined hands to develop
specialised courses in semiconductor technologies, including
VLSI design, semiconductor
manufacturing, packaging, testing, and related fields, aimed at
equipping students and professionals in India’s north-eastern
region with industry-relevant
skills.
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU), signed
by Prof. C C Tripathi, Director of
NITTTR Bhopal, and Prof.
Ramesh Chandra Deka, ViceChancellor of Cotton University.
The partnership seeks to
address the growing demand for
skilled manpower in the semiconductor industry, which is
poised to become a major
employment generator in India
over the next decade.
By focusing on practical,
industry-oriented training, the
courses will prepare students for
careers in the highly specialised
and rapidly evolving field of
semiconductor technologies,
opening new avenues for
employment and research in
the north-east.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof.
Tripathi said, “The semiconductor industry has gained
immense importance globally,
and we are committed to promoting research and skill development in this sector.
Especially in north-east India,
this partnership will create
opportunities to train local
youth in semiconductor technologies, bridging the gap
between education and industry requirements.”
The MoU signing ceremony
was attended by key faculty
members from both institutions.
