Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that identity of any State is shaped not only by its geography but also by its achievements. Opting effective policies and their successful implementation, Madhya Pradesh has carved a new identity for itself not only at the national level but also globally. He was addressing a felicitation ceremony organised by traders and entrepreneurs in Jabalpur after his participation in annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, on Friday. On the occasion, PWD Rakesh Singh, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, MP Ashish Dubey, MLA Ashok Rohani, Dr Abhilash Pandey and office-bearers of various trade and business organisations. The Chief Minister said that the situation prevailing before 2014 has completely changed.
 
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving rapidly on the path of progress, and today countries across the world are eager to connect with India for trade and investment. He said that although representatives from over 200 countries participated in Davos meet, maximum focus was on the Indian delegation, in which Madhya Pradesh emerged prominently, especially in renewable energy sector. Dr Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is producing affordable electricity through wind, solar and power sectors, supplying power at a rate as low as Rs 2.10 per unit.
 
He stressed that economic strength is essential for development of any state, and Madhya Pradesh is steadily emerging as an economic power with strong infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply and land banks. Year 2025 is being observed as “Industry and Employment Year” in the State. He further said that Madhya Pradesh has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country despite a population of nearly nine crore and the per capita income is continuously rising. To promote employment-oriented industries, the State Government is offering 30 per cent capital subsidy, up to 60 per cent subsidy for MSMEs, and land at Re 1 per acre for setting up medical colleges.
 
The Chief Minister also announced plans for an integrated master plan for Jabalpur and neighbouring areas and highlighted initiatives such as helicopter tourism services and wildlife conservation, stating that Madhya Pradesh continues to set benchmarks in development, tourism and sustainability.
