District Planning Committee (DPC) at its meeting held on Friday finalised the annual plan outlay of Rs 730.27 crore for the next financial year 2026-27. The meeting was held at Niyojan Bhavan. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, State Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister, presided over the meeting. The difference of almost 50 per cent in the outlay compared to previous financial years is attributed to poor financial position of State Government, said an official release. Meanwhile, Bawankule in his address stressed that development works must be executed within set deadlines but without compromising on quality. He added that district administration would seek an additional provision of Rs 1,559.69 crore at the forthcoming State-level meeting to scale up ongoing schemes across sectors.
 
The proposed outlay consists of Rs 479.68 crore under the General Plan head, Rs 195 crore under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Rs 55.59 crore under the Tribal Component. The agencies have submitted supplementary demands of Rs 1,370.45 crore under the General Plan, Rs 56.71 crore under SCSP and Rs 132.52 crore under the Tribal head. Bawankule said requirement of additional demand is going to be taken-up during the State level meet to ensure that required fund for development do not lag. Bawankule said the DPC remained committed to ensuring citizen-centric development, administrative responsiveness and transparent execution. He directed departments to adopt long-term planning models and adhere strictly to utilisation timelines.
 
The meeting ratified the minutes and compliance report of the previous sitting held on August 18, 2025, and reviewed expenditure under the current 2025-26 district plan. Bawankule told officials that elected representatives would naturally push for works in the public interest and departments must provide information and compliance updates without delays.

The DPC also discussed increasing instances of conflict between wildlife and human habitation in the district. Members flagged the rise in tiger and leopard movement near villages and farms and even in city. Guardian Minister announced the formation of a committee comprising Adv Ashish Jaiswal, Shyamkumar Barve, Dr Vipin Itankar and Forest Department representatives to draft a three-year roadmap for creation of grassland inside forest ranges. The Revenue Minister said reduction in in-forest grazing habitat had forced herbivores into farmlands, drawing big cats closer to settlements.
 
The plan will be split between district and State funding streams and Bawankule said there would be no shortage of funds for measures related to public and ecological safety. e-PAR system launched Earlier in the day, Chandrashekhar Bawankule launched vehicles sanctioned for the Revenue Department under the district plan and inaugurated the new e-PAR system for
 
Class III and IV confidential reports. Revenue officials thanked the Guardian Minister for expediting approval of the mobility infrastructure. Dr Parinay Fuke raised issue of Ambazari lake Ambazari Lake pollution issue commanded attention during the DPC’s sitting, with MLC Dr Parinay Fuke questioning the administration inaction over the unchecked inflow of sewage from Wadi Municipal Council limits and the proliferation of water hyacinth. He pressed for fixed timelines on sewage treatment arrangements, lake clean-up and ecological restoration. Bawankule instructed departments to initiate immediate corrective action and to present a time-bound plan for lake rehabilitation.
