Ayodhya Nagar Police have apprehended three habitual offenders involved in a string of burglaries and vehicle thefts across the city. The arrests have led to the resolution of four major criminal cases, with police recovering stolen property valued at approximately Rs 4.5 lakh, including three motorcycles. The trio were produced before a local court, which subsequently remanded them to judicial custody.
Exploiting the delivery network According to Ayodhya Nagar Station House Officer (SHO) Mahesh Lilhare, the accused were employed as delivery personnel for prominent aggregators Rapido and Zomato. They allegedly utilised their professional roles to conduct reconnaissance of secluded residential areas and locked houses during their delivery shifts.
 
The investigation revealed that the suspects turned to crime to fund expensive lifestyles and substance abuse habits. By blending in as delivery workers, they managed to scout potential targets without raising suspicion from residents or local security. 100 CCTV cameras scanned The crackdown followed a complaint filed on January 21 by Prashant Tiwari. The complainant reported the theft of metallic caps weighing nearly 500 kg from a temporary storeroom located opposite a school in Suramya Parisar.
 
In a meticulous technical investigation, the police team scanned footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the vicinity. This led to the identification and subsequent capture of the three suspects. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing three motorcycles from the Piplani and Habibganj areas. Police officials noted that the arrested individuals are repeat offenders with multiple criminal cases registered against them in various police stations across Bhopal.
