Full dress rehearsal for Republic Day celebrations was conducted to ensure the final preparedness at Police Parade Ground, on Saturday. The district’s main Republic Day function will be held on January 26, 2026 at Police Ground. Preparations for the event, including parade rehearsals and other ceremonial programmes, have been underway for the past several days. During rehearsal,
Additional Collector Nathuram Gond performed the role of the Chief Guest. He hoisted the national flag, took the salute and inspected the parade, replicating the proceedings of the main ceremony. The final rehearsal of the cultural programmes by school children was also carried out on this occasion. The rehearsal was attended by Collector Raghavendra Singh (IAS), Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay (IPS), along with other senior administrative and police officers, school students, and teachers.
The successful conduct of the full dress rehearsal marked the completion of preparations for the district-level Republic Day celebrations.
Parade will feature contingents from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Special Task Force (STF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Home Guards, District Police Force, along with junior and senior cadets of the NCC, Naval Wing, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and Shaurya Dal. Each participating unit is putting in long hours of practice to perfect marching drills, formations and ceremonial protocols.
