Industrial mishap claims life of contract worker

 

 

 

A contract worker was killed in a tragic industrial mishap at SISCOL Unit-3 Company Limited in the Hathkhoj Industrial Area of Bhilai-3 on Saturday morning. Purani Bhilai police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation into the incident. Police sources said the deceased has been identified as Lekhraj Koushal (35), a resident of Ward 5, Jamul in Durg district.

 

The accident occurred around 7:30 am when a heavy iron component was being shifted with the help of a crane inside the factory premises. During the operation, due to mishandling the iron job struck Lekhraj Koushal on the head, killing him on the spot. On receiving information, a team from Purani Bhilai police station rushed to the site, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Inspector Amber Singh Bhardwaj, Station House Officer of Purani Bhilai Police Station, said the incident appeared to be an industrial accident.
