During two days of intensive police remand, BMC slaughterhouse operator Aslam Qureshi, also known as Chamda, has denied all allegations of cow slaughter. Qureshi maintained that the facility exclusively handled buffalo meat. To verify these claims, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday conducted a spot inspection at the sealed facility in the presence of BMC officials and veterinary experts. Police sources revealed that more than 6 tonnes of meat remains stored in the facility's freezers.

The meat is packaged with tags from an Agra-based export firm. Qureshi claimed the meat is buffalo and asserted that the container intercepted near the Police Headquarters (PHQ) carried the same consignment belonging to the Agra company. SIT maps operational flow During the site visit, investigators interrogated Qureshi on the slaughterhouse's internal logistics. The SIT focused on identifying specific zones used for slaughtering, packaging, and monitoring. Questions were raised regarding Qureshi’s office location, the positioning of

CCTV cameras, and the specific entry and exit points used for livestock and processed meat transportation. Simultaneously, the container driver, Shoaib, admitted to receiving payments for logistics but claimed total ignorance regarding the nature of the meat being transported. ACP Umesh Tiwari stated that the inspection's primary goal was to cross-verify the statements of the accused against CCTV footage and physical evidence. No direct evidence of slaughter found on premises Despite the

FIR and subsequent arrests being triggered by a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, police officials admitted that no direct evidence of cow slaughter has been discovered inside the slaughterhouse so far. However, investigators are now probing a new angle: whether banned meat was sourced from external locations and brought to the facility merely for packaging and mixing with buffalo meat. The SIT has widened its net to collect data on Qureshi’s business partners and key subordinates.
