21 MP police officers to  receive President’s medals

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the conferment of President’s Medals on 21 officers and personnel of the Madhya Pradesh Police for their distinguished and meritorious service. The medals will be formally presented during the Independence Day awards ceremony on August 15, 2026. As per the announcement, four police officers and personnel have been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. They include Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, Inspector General of Police, Narmadapuram Zone, Mithilesh Kumar Shukla, Additional Police Commissioner Avadhesh Kumar Goswami, and Inspector Shiv Kumar Patel. Seventeen officers and personnel will receive the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service.
 
The awardees include Inspector General of Police and Home Department Secretary Krishnaveni Desavattu, Senior Superintendent of Police, Khandwa, Manoj Kumar Rai, Zonal Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, Gitesh Kumar Garg, and Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Bhopal, Durgesh Kumar Rathore. Others selected for the medal are Inspectors (ARMR) Praveen Singh, Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Nidhi Shrivastava, Shaifali Takalkar and Raju Gurane, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh Thakur, Head Constable Shriram Mishra, Constable Sushil Kumar Chaubey, Sub-Inspectors Prem Kishor Vyas and Umrao Prasad Jatav, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Mahendra Singh Negi and Santosh Mehra, and Constable Ravindra Mishra. The President’s Medals are awarded to police personnel in recognition of their dedication, professionalism and outstanding contribution to maintaining law and order and serving the public.
