Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao unfurled the national flag at Lalbag Maidan, Jagdalpur in Bastar district on the occasion of 77th Republic Day, on Monday. After unfurling the national flag, he took the salute of the parade. He read the message of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
The ceremony featured a spectacular parade and salute by 14 contingents, including the District Police Force, Central Paramilitary Forces, Nagar Sena, NCC, Scouts and Guides. Afterward, colourful balloons were released into the sky, symbolizing joy and happiness. School students presented a mesmerizing cultural programme on the occasion.
Various departments displayed tableaux based on public welfare schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister Sao honoured the families of the martyred jawan by presenting them with shawl and shrifal. Officers and employees from various departments were also honoured for their exceptional works at the ceremony.
Also, prizes were given to those who performed well in cultural programs, parade and tableau competitions.
