Governor Ramen Deka unfurled the national flag at the Police Parade Ground in capital Raipur on Republic Day and took the salute of the parade. He inspected the parade, accompanied by Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel and Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam. Addressing the gathering, the Governor said Republic Day is an occasion to take fresh resolves for the nation.
“Let us pledge our full participation in building a developed Chhattisgarh,” he urged. Extending Republic Day greetings to the people of State, Deka described the day as a sacred moment that inspires to preserve national unity and integrity while fulfilling ones’duties. He called it a symbol of India's democratic traditions and constitutional values. Recalling freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Dr B R Ambedkar, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, and Veer Gundadhur, he noted their patriotism and sacrifices paved the way for the Republic.
On this day, India received a Constitution granting liberty and equality to all citizens. He highlighted Baba Guru Ghasidas’s message of manakhe-manakhe ek samaan (equality among all), reflected in constitutional rights, and Veer Narayan Singh’s fight against British rule to end hunger. Today, in a welfare State, Chhattisgarh excels in delivering social-economic justice, education, health, and nutrition. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee created Chhattisgarh in 2000. Marking the silver jubilee, the state resolved to become developed by 2047, backed by the Anjor Vision Document roadmap. Under PM Narendra Modi's guidance, infrastructure has expanded rapidly, with the new industrial policy attracting over 7.83 lakh crore in investment proposals, promising massive employment.
After years of Maoist violence, a strategic campaign has surrendered over 2,500 Naxals in two years via rehabilitation policies; Maoism will be eradicated from Bastar by March this year. Tribal areas thrive under schemes like Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janman, earning Chhattisgarh presidential honors for excellence. Education focuses on character-building via the National Education Policy, blending history, culture, and modern science. Modern industries advance with a semiconductor plant, AI data center park, and booming IT sector. As an agrarian state, it buys paddy at 3,100 per quintal (21 quintals per acre). Mahatari Vandan Yojana credits 1,000 monthly to mothers, while 4.93 lakh women have become "Lakhpati Didis" toward the national goal of 3 crore. Addressing water scarcity, river-linking surveys (Indravati-Mahanadi) are underway. Health infrastructure shines with 81 lakh Ayushman cards, 4.96 lakh senior citizen cards, 4,106 TB-free panchayats, 1 crore+ genetic cards for sickle cell, 2.81 lakh cataract surgeries, and 1.62 lakh spectacles for schoolchildren via AIIMS MoU. Silver jubilee events included Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, Bastar Olympics, Bastar Pandum, Raipur Sahitya Utsav, and upcoming tribal games.
IPS probationer Aditya Kumar led the parade featuring CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, UP Police, CG Armed Forces (men/women), CG Police, Jail Police, NCC, dog squad, horse riders, and bands. Governor awarded police medals and state bravery awards to children Aryan Khes, Rakesh Minj, Ashu Dewangan, Mehul Dewangan, and Hemadri Choudhary. Highlights included parades, horse/dog shows, bagpiper displays, cultural performances, and tableaux, attended by officials, leaders, martyrs' families, students, and citizens.
