Congress says, its workers are the star campaigners

With the withdrawal of majority of candidates, the stage for Nagpur Municipal polls are set. Some candidates had already begun campaigning while some will start from Saturday. Not many days are left for campaigning. It will be difficult for the candidates to reach the voters in their Prabhags in such a short span. But parties and candidates are trying to attract people to their rallies. Meanwhile, BJP has roped in noted Bhojpuri actor and Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari and another actor and a good orator, ex-MP of Azamgarh Dinesh Lal Yadav known as Nirahua.

Whereas, Congress said that it won’t need any celebrity as its workers are no less than any star campaigners. For BJP, its own leaders from Nagpur, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be leading the campaign. Dayashankar Tiwari, City President of the party, who is a well-known orator, election head Sanjay Bhende, MLA Pravin Datke, MLA Sameer Meghe, MLA Dr Ashish Deshmukh, MLC Sandip Joshi, ex-MLC Prof Anil Sole, Girish Vyas, Vidarbha Organisational Secretary Dr Upendra Kothekar, MLA Mohan Mate and some ministers in the cabinet, including Dr Pankaj Bhoyar, will be addressing the public meetings. Congress has not invited any celebrity from outside and will largely depend upon its leaders like city president and MLA Vikas Thakre, MLC Abhijeet Wanjari, ex-Minister and MLA Dr Nitin Raut, former Minister Vilas Muttemwar, Praful Gudadhe, Nitin Kumbhalkar, State Chief of Social Media Vishal Muttemwar, State Spokesperson Atul Londhe and some others to take part.
