SAIL-BHILAI Steel Plant (BSP) achieved notable success at the National Convention on Quality Circles (NCQC–2025), held recently at Greater Noida, with its teams delivering outstanding performances among participants from across the country. Teams from the Rail and Structural Mill (RSM) brought laurels to BSP, prominently marking the Plant’s presence at the national forum.

RSM’s Rail Rakshak team won the prestigious Par Excellence Award for its impactful and effective presentation. Another RSM team, Rail Nishtha, comprising Balram Rath, Manager (RSM–Electrical), N Natesan and Ramakrishna Maheku, also demonstrated commendable performance and was conferred the Excellence Award. BSP’s Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre’s (JLN H and RC) and the Bar and Rod Mill’d (BRM) have also won Par Excellence Awards at the convention.

The members of both teams from RSM were felicitated by Teerthankar Dastidar, CGM (RSM and RTS). Congratulating the teams, Dastidar stated that such achievements at the national level reflect the employees’professional competence, innovative capability and commitment, while also strengthening the morale of the entire department.

He emphasised the need to sustain and further strengthen the process of continuous quality improvement. It is noteworthy that the National Convention on Quality Circles (NCQC), organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), aims to provide a common platform for employees to share, learn and present the practical aspects of quality concepts.

The convention promotes the philosophy of “People Building”, which plays a significant role in encouraging self-development, mutual development, and problem-solving among employees.
