ON WEDNESDAY, Chairman,
National Commission for
Scheduled Tribes (NCSC), Antar
Singh Arya, visited the headquarters of Northern Coalfields
Limited (NCL).
On this occasion, Chairman
Arya appreciated NCL’s role in
ensuring the nation’s energy
security. He also praised NCL’s
efforts to uplift the local community through Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Chairman Arya called for promoting education in villages predominantly inhabited by the
Baiga community.
During the meeting, NCL’s
Director (Human Resources),
Manish Kumar, highlighted the
steps taken by NCL to safeguard
the interests of Scheduled Tribes,
presenting details of the transparent recruitment process,
internal selection, streamlined
grievance redressal system,
employee welfare, and training
and development programmes.
He also presented various
CSR initiatives undertaken by
NCL for the welfare of the tribal
community.
During his visit, the Chairman,
along with other dignitaries,
planted saplings in the NCL
premises under the campaign
‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’. Arya
also distributed blankets to contract workers.
Present on the occasion were
NCL’s Director (Technical
Operations) Sunil Prasad Singh,
Senior Deputy Director of the
National Commission for
Scheduled Tribes, R K Dubey,
various heads of departments
from NCL headquarters, and staff
officers (Human Resources) from
various projects.
During the visit, Chairman
Antar Singh Arya also reviewed
a detailed presentation on NCL’s
CSR and welfare activities for
Scheduled Tribes. Earlier, he
interacted with representatives
of various Scheduled Tribe organisations associated with NCL
