C’garh beat Pondicherry by 9 wickets

 

 

 

YATI Sharma, the captain of Chhattisgarh Under-15 team continued with her brilliant form scoring a masterly innings of 55- ball 84 runs for the team to register effortless victory over Pondicherry in the Women’s U15 One Day Trophy 2026 organised by BCCI in The Daly College ground in Indore on Thursday. Chief architect of the earlier win against Kerala, opener Yati Sharma was not out on a match winning knock of 78 runs hardly missed any scoring opportunity against Pondicherry ensuring victory for the team with match winning knock of 84 runs.

 

Her opening partner Geet Dahariya also rose to the occasion scoring an unbeaten 64 runs to help Chhattisgarh chase the target of 183 runs with ease. After winning the toss and batting first, Pondicherry maintained a good scoring accumulating 182 runs losing three wickets in the quota of 35 overs. The team made a good start with opening pair of Hansika and Gaqudhana sharing partnership of 68 runs.

 

Hansika remained not out on 59 runs while Gaudhana got out on 45. Shivani and Anjum contributed 31 (29) and 22 (14) respectively to the take the team’s total to 182 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shriya Pandey, Gayatri Bai and Santoshi Bai took one wicket each. Chasing the target of 183 runs, Yati Sharma played a match winning innings of 55-ball 84 runs consisting of 16 boundaries and one six.

 

Openers Yati Sharma and Geet Dahariya scored briskly hitting 148 runs from 103 balls for the first wicket. After the departure of Yati, Geet partnered with Pakshalika to take the team to victory with a 36-run partnership from 37 balls without any further loss of wickets. Geet Dahariya remained not out on 64 runs from 64 balls. Chhattisgarh won the match by 9 wickets and secured 4 points.
