JMC officials conduct surprise inspection of STP at Gaurighat

 

 

 

REITERATING the commitment to protect purity of river Narmada, senior officials of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection of Sewer Treatment Plant (STP) at Gaurighat. During inspection, Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar sought detailed information from technical officers on the sewage treatment process.

 

During inspection, the Municipal Commissioner closely reviewed purification of wastewater coming from nearby residential areas. Officials apprised that only treated water is being released into the Narmada after undergoing the prescribed purification process. The treated water was found to be clean at the outlet.

 

While expressing satisfaction with functioning of the plant, Municipal Commissioner Ahirwar stressed that there would be zero tolerance for any compromise in quality standards. To ensure strict compliance, he directed officials to collect water samples on the spot and send them immediately for detailed laboratory testing.

 

The Municipal Commissioner instructed senior officials to maintain continuous monitoring of the treatment process and ensure that environmental norms are strictly followed.
