AN UNUSUAL and inspiring spectacle unfolded at the Ankur Playground during the Maharshi Maitri Cricket Match Series (Session-06), where players used cricket as a medium to promote the Sanskrit language. The event was graced by Kishan Suryavanshi, Chairman of Bhopal Municipal Corporation, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Suryavanshi said that Sanskrit is not just a language, but the soul of Indian civilisation, and it is the mother of many world languages.

He urged the youth to integrate Sanskrit into their daily lives and appreciated the players for stepping onto the field in traditional Indian attire, embracing the cultural spirit of the game. The match itself was conducted in Sanskrit, including player interactions, commentary, announcements, and cheerleading, creating a truly immersive cultural experience.

The commentary in Sanskrit mesmerised the audience while also energising the players, making the event both entertaining and educational. A large gathering of citizens, youth, and Sanskrit enthusiasts applauded this initiative, calling it a historic step towards the revival and popularisation of Sanskrit.
