CM outlines devpt roadmap at Ram Nagar campaign rally

“Public transport in the city will be transformed so that private vehicles will not be needed to travel from one point to the other in Nagpur,” was the vision outlined by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while addressing a campaign rally at Ram Nagar on Tuesday ahead of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections. Addressing a large gathering, Fadnavis said Nagpur was being developed with a long-term, integrated transport plan aimed at easing congestion and improving daily mobility for citizens. He appealed to voters to support the BJP, stating that stable leadership was essential to sustain the city’s growth momentum.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Nagpur had become the first city in the country to generate revenue from treated sewage water, calling it a landmark achievement in sustainable urban governance. He added that development work in all major lakes in the city was underway, improving the environment and quality of life. Defending the Ladki Bahin Yojana, Fadnavis said despite doubts the scheme would continue and be further strengthened. “Our goal is to transform Ladki Bahins into Lakhpati Didis in the coming year,” he said. On healthcare, he noted that Rs 700 crore had been sanctioned for the Government Medical College, upgrading operation theatres with modern technology, while a dedicated 200 bed cancer hospital was also under development.

He added that the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana was benefiting ration card holders with free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh and would be upgraded to Rs 35 lakh. Fadnavis said projects such as the Samruddhi Mahamarg, solar manufacturing units and the presence of premier institutions like AIIMS, IIM and IIIT were positioning Nagpur as a major education and employment hub. The rally was attended by BJP city President Dayashankar Tiwari, MLA Parinay Fuke, ex- corporator Dr Parinita Fuke, ex-corporator Nishant Gandhi, General Secretary Jaiprakash Gupta, ex MLASudhakar Kohle, ex-MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh, candidates from Prabhag 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and other party leaders and workers.
